As the Strategic Tech Investment Manager, you will be a key member of the Technology team, responsible for providing strategic guidance, counsel and direction to the Technology Function on all technology investments. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Product Officer, you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing how Technology manages technology investment and benefits realisation.
You will be a key pillar to the Technology Portfolio team, working closely with the Lean Portfolio, Portfolio Performance & Delivery team and senior leaders both within the technology teams and the wider business. You will provide commercially pragmatic advice on a broad spectrum of technology investment matters and will influence strategic and operational decision-making across Technology.

What You’ll Do:
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skill sets. Here’s a flavor of your day-to-day:
- Develop, own and refresh a 3-5 year rolling tech portfolio investment plan working with the technology strategy team and feeding into quarterly and annual planning, collaborating with all relevant teams within technology and the wider business, in particular Finance and Transformation teams.
- Translate critical technology programs, opportunities and challenges into business outcomes and present to senior stakeholders.
- Co-ordinate business stakeholders to support cross-functional projects and programs.
- Ensure major program alignment with the technology strategy office, transformation and wider strategic objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Transformation Hub to ensure technology investment aligns with wider business strategy and represent technology interests as part of the governance design process.
- Supporting the development of robust compelling business cases for strategic and transformational programs and ensuring appropriate levels of scrutiny have been applied and continuously challenging the teams to optimize solutions.
- Act as a lead commercial advisor for some of the key strategic initiatives within technology providing support and challenge in equal measure on where technology spend should be invested.

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field.
- Proven experience in technology investment management, venture capital, private equity, or corporate development.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to assess opportunities and risks from both a commercial and technical perspective.
- Must be capable of applying a rigorous commercial interpretation without compromising the business.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, possessing the ability to effectively prioritize matters while meeting deadlines with minimal oversight and guidance
- Self-motivated with the ability to be comfortable in an agile role
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize work schedule and work within agreed timescales
